PHOTO 1047
Caption: Northwest corner of berm which was mortared in March or April 1968. Vasarab, Kenney, Nadolny were on guard there that night with extra guard contingent. A V.C. mortar crew was knocked out from the 60 cal. machine gun fired by John Nadolny and John Vasarab and berm guard M-16 return fire. I was returning fire with the 16 that night. I was in the next bunker. After the firefight some First Sgt. said that I should not have fired as it would give away our position!! I remember thinking that Charlie knows where we are, in fact I am sure he knows the compound better then I do!
