Caption: Bad day at Hill 63 LZ Baldy in 1969. I was on this truck that was destroyed by a command detonated mine on = Hwy 1 north of Hill 63 in the stretch of road that we called "mine = alley" I have not seen a picture of this since the day that it happened. = Wow.....what a memory. Shotgun was KIA and I don't remember if the driver made it as he was in = bad shape. 6 others were medivac'ed from the back. I was lucky as I = was one of 4 that was not injured. It was a bad day. Thanks Phill for getting a picture of this. I did not have a camera or = was I in the state of mind to take a photo. Until now all that I have = had was a mental picture. Semper Fi Cpl.
